Why there is no App Store page

TinChat was built for the browser on purpose. A store app means review queues, update nags, permission lists a mile long, regional walls, and a version that ages on your phone whether you open it or not. A web app has none of that: the TinChat site is always the current version, works in every country, and asks for exactly one permission — your camera — at the moment it is actually needed.

The practical result for you: a tinchat download is a search with no correct destination, because the download step was deleted, not hidden. Open Safari, type the address, and you are already running TinChat on your iPhone.

The five-second setup, every platform

An icon is optional — the browser tab already does everything the icon would. Once the icon sits on your home screen, most people cannot tell it from a native app: full-screen launch, its own slot in the app switcher, straight into the matcher. The only difference shows up in your storage settings, where it takes up almost nothing.

What the home-screen icon gets you

Everything — there is only one version of TinChat. Random video matching, private 1v1 calls, the text panel, the who’s online page for choosing a face yourself — all of it behaves identically whether you arrive through Safari, the home-screen icon, or a laptop browser. Your guest session lives in the browser, so there is no account to sync and no password to forget.

Camera and mic permission is requested at your first match, and iPhone users can review or revoke it any time under Settings → Safari. Text-first chat runs with the camera off for as long as you like.

TinChat on a laptop: same thing, bigger

Everything above applies word for word to a laptop or desktop. TinChat on a computer is the same web app in Chrome, Edge or whatever you browse with — no emulator, no desktop client, no "mobile-only" wall. Chrome and Edge also show an install button in the address bar, which gives you a standalone window and a taskbar icon if you want them.

Permissions and privacy on iOS

Browser-first is also the privacy-friendlier design. No app sits on your phone holding standing access to anything — the camera wakes only after the browser asks you, per session, and closing the tab ends everything. Guest login means no email or phone number was ever collected at all. The longer version lives in is TinChat safe, and it applies on every platform the same way.
